As the Philadelphia area's largest free-format station that broadcasts on the FM dial, WKDU is a true champion of the Philly music scene and no event showcases our love of our city than the Electronic Music Marathon. Since 1997 we have brought the sounds and talent of DJs, musicians, producers, and more from the underground electronic scene onto the airwaves in support of not just the station, but charity causes from around the city.
Over the last 20+ years, we have raised over $36,000 for programs in the city that focus on arts in schools and marginalized communities, animal welfare, and most recently AIDS research and advocacy. Our current partners, AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania and The Attic Youth Center, are both grant recipients of the community institution Philly AIDS Thrift. We will also be providing educational content of the many other organizations that receive grant funding from Philly AIDS Thrift each year.
In order for these fantastic organizations to continue to serve our community, we are seeking to raise $7,500 over the course of the 2018 Electronic Music Marathon. Please consider a donation today. All proceeds donated during this weekend will be equally split between WKDU, the AIDS Law Project of PA, and Attic Youth Center.
Our non-commercial, award-winning college radio station is run entirely by Drexel University students and the organizers of this event are all volunteers. Contributions from individuals and companies via check by mail are tax-deductible and support student efforts to lead and manage WKDU operations.
